Elster OS - A DANOS & DAOS enabled distributed operating system

Elster OS combines the Linux Foundation's DANOS (Disaggregated Network Operating System) with DAOS (Distributed Asynchronous Object Storage) capabilities. This integration merges enterprise networking functionality with high-performance object storage architecture, creating a unified system for managing both network operations and storage resources. Elster OS efficiently handles distributed workloads with reduced latency, serving organizations that need both advanced networking and scalable storage solutions. The project bridges traditionally separate infrastructure components into a single operational environment.

DANOS Integration

Elster OS adopts DANOS's DPDK and Config system to define network nodes via tethers, enabling flexible system definement and management.

DAOS Implementation

The DAOS integration allows the platform to behave like one logical node, creating a unified system from distributed storage resources.
